Deep in the heart of the Ozarks, where the hills roll like green waves, lived Dolly. She lived at Arkatype Farms, a place where the morning dew tasted like honey and the wind hummed old folk songs. Dolly had a very important job today. She was going to be "The Goat Maiden" for the biggest wedding in Arktopia County!

The wedding was being held at a grand estate with white tents and twinkling lights. Dolly had to serve refreshing water and cold beer to all the thirsty guests. "I need a partner," Dolly said to herself. "A goat who is steady, calm, and won't try to eat the bride’s bouquet!" She went to the barn to find the perfect helper.

First, Dolly visited Barnaby. Barnaby was a goat with a coat as dark as midnight and a spirit as wild as a thunderstorm. "Will you help me, Barnaby?" Dolly asked. But Barnaby just kicked up his heels and leaped over a tall fence! He was far too jumpy to carry glass bottles without making a giant splash.

Next, Dolly went to see Clover. Clover was a sweet, spotted goat who loved everyone, but she loved snacks even more. As soon as Dolly showed her the flower decorations, Clover leaned in and took a big, crunchy bite of a daisy! "Oh, Clover," Dolly sighed. "You’d eat the wedding feast before the guests even arrived!"

Finally, Dolly found Glimmer. Glimmer was a tan goat with soft, kind eyes. When Dolly approached with the heavy leather harness, Glimmer didn't jump or run. She stood as still as a statue, waiting patiently. Dolly smiled and petted Glimmer's soft ears. "You are the one, Glimmer. You are a true professional."

Dolly spent the afternoon preparing. She wove two beautiful crowns out of lavender, pink roses, and sprigs of eucalyptus. One was for her own blonde braids, and a matching one was for Glimmer. They had to look their best for the celebration in Arktopia County.

It was time to get dressed! Dolly fastened a special leather saddle onto Glimmer. It had deep pockets for bottles of beer and water, and small pouches for little jars of treats. Glimmer looked very proud. She trotted in a circle, making sure the bottles didn't clink too loudly.

When they arrived at the wedding, the music was playing and people were dancing. Dolly led Glimmer through the crowd. "Water! Cold beer!" Dolly called out with a bright smile. People turned and gasped. They had never seen a Goat Maiden before, especially one with such a well-behaved companion.

A guest named Silas, wearing a very fancy suit, walked up to them. "My, what a helpful goat!" he said. Glimmer stood perfectly still as Silas reached into the saddle and took a cold bottle of water. He was so impressed by Glimmer’s manners that he dropped a shiny silver coin into Dolly’s tip jar.

By the end of the night, Dolly’s jar was full of tips, and Glimmer had received many head pats and a few secret carrots. The moon rose over Arkatype Farms as the two friends walked home. Dolly was tired, but she was happy. Her first day as the Goat Maiden was a grand success, thanks to her best friend, Glimmer.
